Published by Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing for National Drug Strategy
October2004
Over the past few years, some new ways to treat opioid dependence have been studied. A project known as ‘NEPOD’ or the National Evaluation of Pharmacotherapies for Opioid Dependence brought together the results of many of these studies. Some of the findings of this project have been included in this booklet.
The aim of this booklet is:
- to tell you about the treatment options available for heroin and other opioid dependence, and
- to help you make informed decisions about your treatment.
